Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a non-surgical, traction based treatment and it is becoming more and more available in our area. It seems like every time you turn on the TV there is a 30 minute infomercial for someone that does Spinal Decompression. Who do you suppose pays for that 30 minute commercial? You do! Stick around, read the info I've posted here. I have no plans to run 30 minute commercials and I pass that savings on to you. My clinic uses the most advanced Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Treatment System available anywhere at any price, yet we charge 50% to 70% less than any of the other clinics here in the Tyler or Athens area! I'm not aware of any other clinic that will even tell you what they charge!

Independent Chiropractors like myself as well as a large group of Medical Doctors and most multi-disciplinary pain relief focused clinics are proving beyond a doubt that Spinal Decompression Therapy may be your best chance to avoid back or neck surgery. There is a lot more to be said about Spinal Decompression and what it can offer you but the most important thing I can tell you right now is how to find out (for free) if you are a good candidate, how long it will take for the treatments and how much it will cost you. Right? Please read on and I will cover all that and more.

Please consider watching this 30 minute video (if you have high speed internet) where a well known orthopedic surgeon explains how the patented Triton DTS System works. It is a sample video of the infomercial for sale to clinics to run on television

(The video may take a few moments depending on connection speed and is not recommended for dial up connections)

How Can Spinal Decompression Therapy Help?

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a "special" name for the effect caused by this traction based treatment where a negative pressure, like a vacuum, is temporary caused inside the disc, that can have a profound effect on the healing process due to increased contact with the blood supply and fibroblast migration (called the phasic effects). This is in addition to the pain relief created neurologically by stretching soft tissue (like stretch receptors and mechanoreceptors) which makes Decompression therapy a logical and viable addition to many pain care regiments. See the diagram below to help you get a visual of how the herniated/bulging disc might look.

When Should You Consider Spinal Decompression Therapy?

The Triton DTS represents the finest Non-Surgical Decompression Traction System available today. The Spinal Decompression Table is designed to apply distraction tension to the patient’s spine without eliciting reflex paravertebral muscle contractions.

Decompression therapy is very affordable and cheaper than surgery. Spinal Decompression/Traction is highly recommended by Neurological Research. It was found that out of 778 cases of patients receiving spinal decompression 92% said that they showed improvement (Neurological Research; Volume 20, Number 3, April 1998).

Disc Decompression, utilizing Decompression & Stabilization, is a unique non-surgical therapy developed for the treatment of chronic lower back pain, herniated discs and degenerative disc diseases.

The Decompression-Reduction-Stabilization therapy is an effective treatment for:

• Herniated Disc
Degenerative Disc Disease
Facet Syndrome
• Sciatica
• Post-surgical patients
Spinal Stenosis

The time to consider it is now. If you are still reading this then it is obvious that you or someone you care about has a problem. It won't cost you anything to find out more, the initial consultation is on me.

Here is a link to the research papers I've been able to find (brief one paragraph synopsis on most as well as links to the full papers on others)

The last two things I want to discuss are the treatment plan options and the cost.

The research shows that in most cases a treatment program for a ruptured or herniated disc begins with 20 spinal decompression treatments accomplished in a period of 4 to 6 weeks. This means that when your making a decision to start this program you should to be committed to finishing it. It won't do you any good to do what some patients have done, start treatment... go a week or two then have some stroke of genius and decide that you just know this isn't working because you aren't skipping rope and riding barrel horses again already. It has taken you years to screw your back up as bad as it is now, it will take months to restore it and the rest of your life for you to continue to take better care of yourself, this is true whether you do rehab with me or have surgery then rehab with them.

It is your health as well as my reputation on the line here and I take both very seriously, I hope you do too

There are 3 phases of DTS Therapy Program

  • Treatment - In Phase 1 we're focused on getting you out of pain.
  • Stabilization of structure - In Phase 2 we do physical rehabilitation to stabilize your structural weaknesses. This is the ONLY WAY to stop the pain from returning - forever!
  • Support of muscular system - In Phase 3 we get into full rehab mode and it is very focused on home therapy to be sure you know how to stay well on your own!

What else do you want to know? The cost, right, thought I left that out didn't you.

Spinal Decompression Therapy has been proven to work in many studies as well as in literally hundreds of doctors offices and hospitals all across the country. The Triton DTS machine we use has been proven successful with thousands and thousands of patients nationwide and around the world! But does that guarantee that you will get the same result? Unfortunately not, that is why I encourage you to investigate the clinic and the doctor you choose. Many (actually almost all) clinics use pressure sales tactics and charge $4,000 or more, (up front - no insurance billing) for the first 4  to 6 weeks of this type of Spinal Decompression Therapy Program!

When you commit to your program of care here at the Chandler Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression Center the charges are typically less than $100 per treatment. You can pay each visit as you are treated or if you prefer we offer several payment options that will save both of us time and save you more money. That is with no insurance it is even less with most insurance plans. With your medicare insurance it is less than $38 per visit after all your additional discounts. Keep in mind also if you are in the medicare age bracket that most of the time the degenerative disc symptoms make up the bulk of the problem and the treatments are less frequent in those cases, usually 2 times per week for 4-6 weeks rather than every day or every other day like someone with a full blown herniated lumbar disc.

When you look at the full treatment program that ends up costing only about 1500-1800 for the entire program of spinal decompression therapy, chiropractic, low lever (cold) laser treatments, zero-needle electro-acupuncture treatments, modalities like electric muscle stimulation, ice packs and later, when your ready for phase 2 of care, physical rehabilitation exercises in the office as well as instruction in home exercises to keep you well. And that is assuming your case is really bad and takes the full 20 visits of Decompression Therapy to respond. Often patients respond faster, some see drastic pain reduction in as few as 3-6 treatments, this allows us to move to the second phase of care that much faster decreasing your total number of visits and therefore decreasing your (and your insurance companies) overall expense.

Actually more than half of our patients don't come in with "full blown herniated discs" but with some level of disc degeneration that has been causing them misery for years. These type cases respond much faster, often this type patient might feel relief from the first few visits, what we have to watch though is that it still takes a considerable amount of time to get the disc to re-hydrate to the point that the results are more permanent. This can get us into the second phase with the rehab early on but then we really have to stay diligent with the decompression treatments so you don't lose what you've gained.

Remember that we do bill insurance and we are in most of the networks. You can check with your specific plan to know what chiropractic and physical medicine they cover.

Remember, several payment options are available to you and we take credit cards. Please don't let money stand in the way of your return to health. Call, come in and let's discuss it. Give us an opportunity to help you. I offer a complementary consultation visit where I invite you to bring your MRI reports, X-Rays etc. for me to review. You don't have to have all of that but if it has been done already why redo the tests?

If you qualify and are ready we can continue (and if we have time scheduled) we can go ahead and do an orthopedic/neurologic examination to determine clinically how bad of shape you're in, then we may move on to treatment if you approve of the plan. Yes we often do that all the same day. Is that straight forward enough for you?

So what do you do now?

Just call the office now and we will schedule you for an initial evaluation, the number is 903-849-2200. If it is after hours just call now and leave us a message so we can call you when we get back into the office.
