First, knee pain usually responds very well to Acupuncture so it is the first thing I like to do for you. There are some cases that this is enough because it seems to stop the arthritis type pain and it can stay gone for a long time or sometimes less time people react differently. The knee acupuncture is a simple procedure and falls into our least costly acupuncture category. Each treatment is as little as $40 - 6 treatments are recommended to start with and if paid up front that is only $180 ($30 per treatment).
Another thing that can help is a recent invention that allows a doctor or physical therapist to actually change the mechanics of how you walk by changing the way the load is applied to then released from your knee during the gait cycle. This often stops your knee pain long term by changing that load within the knee.
We offer this therapy in our office over a 6-8 week period and it is covered by your insurance, but sorry to say nothing is ever covered by Medicare this is no different. We offer very generous discounts for uninsured patients (30% off) and even greater discounts for medicare patients (50% off - makes the rehab only about $25-$30 a visit) so please ask about it so we can discuss your specific circumstances.
