My Acupuncture program could help you a great deal when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off, but not if you keep eating the same junk that made you gain weight in the first place!  You must be ready to make some changes in your life, or just save your money. Acupuncture can help reduce stress, including the stress you feel when "dieting" that makes you give up and the stress from daily life of extraordinary situations that leads to BAD eating.

Weight Loss with Acupuncture

A patient who is overweight is much more likely to experience back pain and I my life's work is the elimination of back pain.  When weight management is your concern your first treatment will include point testing and treatment with the electro-acupuncture machine as well as a more traditional acupuncture needle treatment utilizing points in the ear and on the body, then placement of either of the following for additional stimulation between visits: 1. very small needle like devices in some of your most important points, 2. herbal soaked seeds, and/or 3. gold/silver ion granules.

With the small needle like magnetic devices you will continue to stimulate the device with the special magnet you are given, you will use pressure on the others. This total visit includes the initial consultation, evaluation and treatment and is just $85. After that the visits are $25 for each treatment. My recommendation is that you find a time that works for you and stick to that day/time each week. If you choose to you may wait as long as 10 days between treatments, any treatment left in between visits should be removed at 10 days.

This treatment doesn't work by doing it once, it has to be repeated, usually weekly, if you miss for 30 days you will need to be re-evaluated before continuing to be sure your health has not changed. There is a $25 re-evaluation fee plus $25 for the treatment.

We have patients who prefer the electro-acupuncture treatment alone, it works great that way. We have a special offer we can discuss personally if this is the case.

Finally, when a person has multiple conditions that they need treatment for it could take hours if all the points for multiple conditions are chased down and treated on each visit. Because of that conditions are billed separately and there is a discount taken off. We discuss that with you personally when we discuss your case history.

Dr. Dixon recommends "pH Miracle Alkaline eating and drinking purified, ionized, alkaline water to accomplish your weight management goals.

pH Levels and Your Health

We all want to eat well to give our body the correct fuel it needs to perform optimally. But how do we know what our body needs and why? We want to give our bodies the correct balance of the foods that are out there, but how do we know how to keep our body in proper balance.

One of the most important balance systems of the body is the pH level. The term pH stands for “potential” of “Hydrogen”. It is the amount of hydrogen ions in any solution. When there are more hydrogen ions, the solution is more acidic. The solution is more alkaline when there are fewer ions. The pH level is a measure of acidity or alkalinity and measured on a scale of zero to fourteen. Zero is the most acid, fourteen the most alkaline and seven is in the middle range.

Breathing and keeping our heart beating are the two most important metabolic functions that our bodies perform. The next is maintaining a very specific pH. The most important pH level that the body must regulate is the blood’s pH level. The body’s blood pH level must be maintained slightly alkaline at between 7.35 and 7.45. When in this range, the blood is receiving the necessary amount of oxygen. Even a minimal decrease in pH will provide the blood and cells with lower levels of oxygen. Any reduction in pH, no matter how modest, is the onset of a disease state and influences when and how we age. All of our organs, tissues and fluids will make constant adjustments to alter their pH range so as to keep the blood within the strict pH between 7.35 and 7.45, slightly alkaline. This bodily process is called homeostasis.

Unbelievably, death can result by coma or seizure if it varies more than a point. Our bodies will NOT let this happen though. To maintain the blood’s critical pH balance, the body will weaken less important functions by drawing electrolytes and minerals. Once the electrolyte and mineral reserves become depleted, the body’s various organs and systems of the body are robbed of these electrolytes to maintain the blood’s ever-important pH level. Here is where imbalance starts.

When oxygen levels are low due to an acidic pH, the cells ability to energize and rid themselves of waste is compromised. This acidic pH creates a chaotic internal environment that makes the body struggle just to keep its nutrient levels correct. Even though you are breathing oxygen, when you become more acidic, your cells don’t benefit and your energy is sapped. Your body is using your energy to return your blood back to an alkaline state.

There are elaborate biochemical processes that take place in the body all the time to keep blood pH as close to perfect as possible. These are the pH buffering systems. These buffering systems need a good balance of minerals to work effectively. If we don’t ingest an adequate amount of minerals from the food we eat, we will start having problems with our pH balancing systems.

Chronic diseases like cancer need an acidic environment to prosper.
The first goal on the way to great health is to restore the body’s ph to the alkaline range. Almost all chronic illness takes place in a body that has become acidic due to the gradual depletion of its mineral reserves. The state of the body’s acid/alkaline balance can be easily measured by testing the urine or saliva using pH paper. Once you get a baseline reading of your urine or saliva, you can start to take action getting your body into a more alkaline state.

A diet consisting of 75% Alkalizing and 25% Acid Forming foods will help keep the pH of your blood and cells at a good balanced level. This will allow the body to perform its normal functions rather than expending energy to balance itself. Please note: It is not the food that is tested for acidity/alkalinity, but the byproduct after digestion.
