Weight Loss with Acupuncture

Our Acupuncture program could help you a great deal when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off, but not if you keep eating the same junk that made you gain weight in the first place!  Please be ready to make some changes in your life, otherwise... save your money.

Auricular Acupuncture offers two amazing benefits. 1) The treatment actually focuses on a branch of the Vagus Nerve. The Vagus Nerve, aka: the "wandering nerve", travels to internal organs of the abdomen providing the parasympathetic nerve connections. Because these connections include the stomach we believe this is the mechanism behind the treatments incredible success at reducing appetite and increasing metabolism. 2) The Acupuncture treatment can help reduce stress, including the stress you feel when "dieting" that makes you give up and the stress from daily life of extraordinary situations that leads to BAD eating.

This program is simple and includes a 15-20 minute treatment in the office as well as an additional treatment with a special tiny needle that stays in place working to help you for up to a week after your treatment. Additionally we ask that you keep a "diary" of sorts including A) two weight readings per day - AM & PM; next, B) a food intake diary where you will document what you eat and drink.

It is very important that you maintain your weekly schedule and we understand how difficult this can be, but it is necessary for us to help you. The first visit is only $99 and includes your Food Diary, Weight Diary, and Important Healthy Weight Loss Tips. After that you have two options to save you $ on your follow up visits. The initial program is 90 days and the basic treatment begins at 35 for each visit but you can pay 119 at the beginning of each month or just pay 299 in the beginning then you're good for the whole 90 days - you pick what is best for you.

So, why does a Chiropractor deal with weight loss?

If a patient is overweight that person is much more likely to experience pain in many areas of their body as well as their life and I my life's work deals with the elimination of pain and helping others to live a healthier happier life.

In this way I am helping you prevent disease from ever entering your life, also I hope to help you become healthier, lose the weight if you need to, get active and enjoy the life you have been blessed with. Begin by being a blessing to someone else who needs a lift today!

OK, so I have no clue where to start... How to I get healthier? How can I lose this weight?

Dr. Dixon recommends the "pH Miracle" books on Alkaline eating and drinking. That means drinking purified, ionized, alkaline water to help accomplish your weight management goals.

Below you can watch a few videos of Dr. Young who wrote the pH Miracle series of books and read more about what pH means as far as your body is concerned.

pH Levels and Your Health

We all want to eat well to give our body the correct fuel it needs to perform optimally. But how do we know what our body needs and why? We want to give our bodies the correct balance of the foods that are out there, but how do we know how to keep our body in proper balance.

One of the most important balance systems of the body is the pH level. The term pH stands for “potential” of “Hydrogen”. It is the amount of hydrogen ions in any solution. When there are more hydrogen ions, the solution is more acidic. The solution is more alkaline when there are fewer ions. The pH level is a measure of acidity or alkalinity and measured on a scale of zero to fourteen. Zero is the most acid, fourteen the most alkaline and seven is in the middle range.

Breathing and keeping our heart beating are the two most important metabolic functions that our bodies perform. The next is maintaining a very specific pH. The most important pH level that the body must regulate is the blood’s pH level. The body’s blood pH level must be maintained slightly alkaline at between 7.35 and 7.45. When in this range, the blood is receiving the necessary amount of oxygen. Even a minimal decrease in pH will provide the blood and cells with lower levels of oxygen. Any reduction in pH, no matter how modest, is the onset of a disease state and influences when and how we age. All of our organs, tissues and fluids will make constant adjustments to alter their pH range so as to keep the blood within the strict pH between 7.35 and 7.45, slightly alkaline. This bodily process is called homeostasis.

Unbelievably, death can result by coma or seizure if it varies more than a point. Our bodies will NOT let this happen though. To maintain the blood’s critical pH balance, the body will weaken less important functions by drawing electrolytes and minerals. Once the electrolyte and mineral reserves become depleted, the body’s various organs and systems of the body are robbed of these electrolytes to maintain the blood’s ever-important pH level. Here is where imbalance starts.

When oxygen levels are low due to an acidic pH, the cells ability to energize and rid themselves of waste is compromised. This acidic pH creates a chaotic internal environment that makes the body struggle just to keep its nutrient levels correct. Even though you are breathing oxygen, when you become more acidic, your cells don’t benefit and your energy is sapped. Your body is using your energy to return your blood back to an alkaline state.

There are elaborate biochemical processes that take place in the body all the time to keep blood pH as close to perfect as possible. These are the pH buffering systems. These buffering systems need a good balance of minerals to work effectively. If we don’t ingest an adequate amount of minerals from the food we eat, we will start having problems with our pH balancing systems.

Chronic diseases like cancer need an acidic environment to prosper.
The first goal on the way to great health is to restore the body’s ph to the alkaline range. Almost all chronic illness takes place in a body that has become acidic due to the gradual depletion of its mineral reserves. The state of the body’s acid/alkaline balance can be easily measured by testing the urine or saliva using pH paper. Once you get a baseline reading of your urine or saliva, you can start to take action getting your body into a more alkaline state.

A diet consisting of 75% Alkalizing and 25% Acid Forming foods will help keep the pH of your blood and cells at a good balanced level. This will allow the body to perform its normal functions rather than expending energy to balance itself. Please note: It is not the food that is tested for acidity/alkalinity, but the byproduct after digestion.
